SPA 101 Basic Spanish (3 Credit Hours)
The primary outcome of this course is to achieve a functional command of the Spanish language. Emphasis is on the speaking of the language and on an introduction to the grammar. Some Spanish and Hispanic cultural elements are also included. It is for students with little or no knowledge of Spanish. It is not open to students with one, two or more years of high school Spanish or one year of college Spanish.

SPA 211 Intermediate Spanish (3 Credit Hours)
This course is for students with a basic knowledge of Spanish who wish to improve their mastery of the language. Emphasis is placed on the development of oral skills in a supportive classroom atmosphere. Activities include the reading and discussion of cultural and literary selections and the writing of simple compositions. Students who have had Spanish 101 or at least 1 year of high school Spanish are eligible to register for this course

SPA 301 Advanced Spanish (3 Credit Hours)
This course enhances and refines student's Spanish skills, aiming to provide advanced fundamentals of vocabulary, grammar, conversation, and cultural elements. As a prerequisite, students should have had Intermediate Spanish, or an equivalent university course. Students who have not had Intermediate Spanish must gain instructor approval to enroll in this course. Students are expected to communicate in Spanish at all times in the classroom.
May be repeated for credit.
