ANAT - Anatomy Post Baccalaureate
ANAT 1005 Anatomy (4 Credit Hours)
This intensive gross anatomy course is designed to prepare students for entry in the field of health professions. The course focuses on an integrated study of human anatomy using a systemic approach to provide a solid foundation of body structure which is paramount to understanding physiological and pathological concepts. This course includes anatomy content from a theoretical point of view, as well as from the practical applications of the anatomical content in clinical settings. The content is presented by systems through online
overviews and matching laboratories. The material is organized in units and presented in a logical fashion, i.e.cells and tissues, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, endocrine system,
cardiovascular system, lymphatic and immune system, respiratory
system, digestive system, urinary system, reproductive system, and surface anatomy. In order to increase student academic performance and facilitate better memorization of anatomical structures, this course includes hands-on dissection of actual organs, as well as the use of virtual 3D interactive anatomy software that will allow students to perform virtual dissections. Course Pre-req: One semester of college biology.
Equivalent to DPPP 378. Additional fees may exist.
