TCA - Clinical Anatomy Teaching Track

TCA 600  Teaching in the Gross Anatomy Lab 1  (4 Credit Hours)  
This course will include further development of pedagogic techniques as the students will be participating in the teaching of gross anatomy to medical students. Course content will include (but not limited to) increased opportunities and responsibilities to prepare and demonstrate demo dissections, to assist students in dissections, to create and deliver didactics, and to assist in student assessment and grading.
Academic Level: Graduate  

Enrollment is limited to students with a program in Clinical Anatomy, Osteopathic Medicine, Clinical Anatomy-Research or Clinical Anatomy-Teaching.

TCA 650  Teaching in the Gross Anatomy Lab 2  (4 Credit Hours)  
This course will include further development of pedagogic techniques as the students will be participating in the teaching of gross anatomy to medical students. Course content will include (but not limited to) increased opportunities and responsibilities to prepare and demonstrate demo dissections, to assist students in dissections, to create and deliver didactics, and to assist in student assessment and grading.

TCA 655  Interprofessional Teaching in the Gross Lab  (4 Credit Hours)  
This course will be in the Spring semester and is similar to the Teaching in the Donor Lab course, with the exception being that MS students will not be teaching medical students, but will be teaching other professional students taking anatomy (e.g., in the College of Dental Medicine anatomy course). This will allow the learner to teach at multiple educational levels in the academic environment. As in the Teaching in the Donor Lab course, the course content will include (but not limited to) increased opportunities and responsibilities to prepare and demonstrate demo dissections, to assist students (in different health profession tracks) in dissections, to create and deliver didactics across multiple professional disciplines, and to assist in student assessment and grading.
